70 year old male brought to the ED by EHS from his apartment with a history of several days of nausea/diarrhea/emesis. He called EHS today complaining of dizziness.

Educational Goal: Approach to management of BRASH Syndrome

Objectives (Medical and CRM):
CRM: Effectively lead team members through complex critical scenario.
Medical:

• Early recognition of BRASH Syndrome and its multifactorial nature
• Check potassium early in bradycardia and have a low threshold for giving IV calcium even if the ECG doesn’t show obvious hyperkalemia

EPAs Assessed: F1 Initiating and assisting in resuscitation of critically ill patients.
